>> Project
"Anthologies, Discourse and Literacy" is a
Project that started with researches on Bilingual Poetic Anthologies, developed by
Professor Silvana Serrani at IEL/UNICAMP and it is sponsored by CNPq and FAPESP.
The objectives of the research group are:
1. To study multi-cultural and
bilingual anthologies of several discourse genres, from an archeological-discursive
point of view and following recent developments of cultural theory, considering the
building of memories and socio-cultural cartographies. (Foucault, 1986; Orlandi, 1987;
Pêcheux, 1990; Williams, 1993; Courtine, 1994; Nora 1996; Eagleton 2003/2005a/2005b);
2. To analize the macro-structure of
the anthologies in the corpus (secondary sources: prefaces, forewords, preliminary
essays, prologues, biographical notes from writers and/or translators, postscript,
etc) and their primary sources: selections from texts according to different
topics of cultural theory in focus;
3. To develop taxonomies for the
anthological discourse and to organize a Database of Anthologies published
during the last decades;
4. To examine the presence (or absence),
role and functions of literature in language teaching (Bartlett e Holland, 2002),
in teacher formation and development courses and schools in the official educational
Brazilian system
5. To develop case studies using anthological
materials in educational literacy practices, especially in reading and writing
activities, considering the developments in the curriculum study area (Stern, 1993; Coste, 1996, Serrani, 2005), in the
contexts of language teacher formation mentioned above, and bilingual education
of Brazilian young people.
