"Anthologies, Discourse and Literacy" is a project that aims at studying
anthologies in which multiple writers are included. These volumes are
understood as discursive spaces of transcultural memories and as
cultural artifacts in educational practices. It started in 2004 with
the research supported by FAPESP and developed by Silvana Serrani,
IEL/UNICAMP, at the University of Columbia, United States. It was
preceded by the group "Plurilinguism, Discourse and Literacy Practices",
which started activities in 1996 and was formally constituted in 1998,
when IEL/UNICAMP carried on a Seminar in which Professor Daniel Coste
(Paris III University and ENS) participated. In the 90's, the work
concentrated in the study of subjectivity in non-native speech and
in the processes of reading and writing. Since the year of 2000,
emphasis has been given to the research on curriculum planning. The
focus on the reading and cultural component originated the present
project which is called "Anthologies, Discourse and Literacy".
At present, the group investigates the anthological discourse
in different genders and languages.
